A geriatric dad's fight against Dementia/Alzheimer's

#Dementia, what it is and the Fight to Defeat it.

The term Geriatric is described as a medical speciality focused on providing care for the unique group of older adults! In the UK the NHS use a guideline of 3 to5 prescription drugs would suggest that you are in their club. I take 8 together with a bucketful of ‘healthy’ pills!

I read on Wikipedia that the term geriatric is from the Greek “geron” meaning “old man” and “iatrus” meaning “healer,” that’s definitely me then.

So, what does it mean? Old, obsolescent, worn out, or even worse, useless. And there are special places in hospitals called Geriatric Wards.

I can think of many more uses of the word that I have come across, like geriatric factories like the old cotton and woollen mills.

In the UK, 65 is the age at which you become geriatric and the five biggest issues for us are immobility, instability, incontinence and intellectual impairment. Currently, there is no simple cure.

STOP Right NOW! I am not buying into any of this. I am going to fight being old. I am going to stay as young as I ever was, as I used to be, and I do not want to be labelled ‘A Geriatric.’ In this WOKE WORLD, I am a PERSON, a human being that’s WOKE UP to the reality of being old, and definitely NOT A GERIATRIC! So join me on a Crusade, it begins NOW.

Your Donation will help stop Alzheimer's/Dementia forever.
